Glenn’s Former Security Guard Shares Truth About Matt Lauer’s ‘Rape Button’

As the news of Matt Lauer’s sudden termination from NBC broke and details began to emerge, none appeared as sinister as the reports of a hidden button under his desk that would lock his office door without getting up.

Not to diminish the creepiness factor at all, but Glenn’s former security guard Jason Buttrill shed a little light on the so-called “rape button” and why it was there in the first place via Twitter.

Buttrill joined Glenn’s radio program Thursday to explain his tweet. He said the other tweets he posted before and after had quite a bit of engagement, but this one got crickets.

That is until one person responded by sharing a photo of hidden door lock button she’d installed under her own desk for security purposes, giving credence to Buttrill’s statement.

Was this button there in case of an active shooter situation or did Lauer have more sinister motives in mind? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
