Iowa radio staffers fired after racist comments

A Northern Iowa radio play-by-play announcer and studio producer are out of work after comments they made during a basketball game went viral.  Orin Harris and Holly Jane Kusserow-Smidt were broadcasting the game between Forest City and Eagle Grove high schools last week.  That's when they referenced the "Español people" playing for Eagle Grove and Harris referenced President Trump saying that they should leave the country.  KIOW Radio released a statement denouncing the comments. The station said it apologized to Eagle Grove officials last Thursday.
