Jamie Lynn Spears Opens Up About 'Almost Losing' Daughter In ATV Accident

Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter, Maddie Aldridge, was involved in a serious ATV accident back in February that left her trapped underwater for several minutes before she was airlifted to a nearby hospital. Luckily the 9-year-old pulled through and was soon back in school celebrating Valentine's Day with her classmates. The ordeal left Jamie shaken, but grateful, something the singer opened up about with an emotional Instagram post on Monday (December 18).

"The hardest milestone me and my family have ever faced was almost losing our beautiful Maddie," she captioned a photo of Maddie and the two people who helped save her daughter's life. "But thanks to God and the two angels in this picture we were able to celebrate Maddie turning 9 years old all together. This milestone became a true miracle, and we are forever grateful for that. #12DaysOfJLS."

Jamie shares Maddie with her husband, Jamie Watson, who is Maddie's stepdad. Both of them were present during the accident and attempted to free their daughter from the seat belt that was keeping her under the water. In the weeks after Maddie's accident, many of her family members commented on her condition, including Jamie's sister Britney Spears, who asked fans for "all the wishes and prayers" for her niece.
