K-Pop Star Key Writes Heartbreaking Letter To Late SHINee Bandmate Jonghyun

December 21, 2017

Following the funeral of his SHINee bandmate Jonghyun, who took his life earlier this week, Key took to Instagram to write a letter to his "best friend," apologizing for not being a "source of strength" for the 27-year-old star, who was struggling with depression.

On Thursday (December 21), Key took to Instagram to share the heartfelt words to his late singing brother and a full translation of the note has surfaced onto Twitter, courtesy of @SonexStelle. "I'm sorry I was late to see hyung because I was doing other work and as a donsaeng, I'm sorry I couldn't be your strength when you must have been lonely all this time," the rapper wrote in the note.

Elsewhere in the note. Key tells his late bandmate that he doesn't have to stress about the family that he's left behind. "Don't worry too much that you left before us, and I will take care of and respect your mom and noona like they're my own family," he wrote. "I will miss you a lot for a while. I'm really worried that the person who would take my side during discussions has left." Read Key's full note to Jonghyun below!
