Funko Announces Pop! Vinyl 'Drag Race' Figurines: RuPaul, Alaska & More
January 5, 2018
RuPaul's Drag Race fans will be able to expand their collection of memorabilia with some upcoming figurines of their favorite queens, as per a new announcement from Funko.
On Friday (January 5), the toy company answered the plea of incessant Drag Race fans by announcing their plans to release three Pop! Vinyl figurines of fan favorites Alaska, Trixie Mattel and, of course, HBIC RuPaul. If you have gift cards to any Hot Topics stores, you'll be happy to hear that the figurines will be available exclusively to the store and at HotTopic.com beginning mid-January, but that shouldn't be a surprise to too many folks since there are already plenty of Drag Race merch, including t-shirts, tank tops, and bags, available at the stores already.
It's been some time since Drag Race fans have been requesting that the toy company create figurines of beloved queens from the show. In fact, there was even a Change.org petition to persuade Funko to make it happen.
If you need even more Drag Race fix this month, make sure you tune into VH1 on January 25 at 8PM for the Season 3 premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars. Among the queens who will sissy that walk for their chance at redemption and the mega-title of "America’s Next Drag Superstar" include Aja, BenDeLaCreme, Chi Chi DeVayne, Kennedy Davenport, Milk, Morgan McMichaels, Shangela, Thorgy Thor and Trixie Mattel.
"For 'All Stars' season three, the expectations are high, and these mighty queens do not disappoint," executive producer and host RuPaul said in a press release. "These girls are talented, hungry, and ready to do whatever it takes to earn their place in the Drag Race Hall of Fame."
