Here's What Twitter Is Saying About Justin Timberlake's New Single 'Filthy'

January 5, 2018
Justin Timberlake splashed back onto the scene at the stroke of midnight on Friday (January 5) with "Filthy," his Timbaland and Danja-produced electro-funk stomper, and the Twitterverse is reacting to the Man of the Woods single.
Shortly after the song and video simultaneously surfaced, social media lit on fire with reactions to the almost five-minute track. Far from the family-friendly aura of 2016's "Can't Stop the Feeling," "Filthy" is down and dirty, with the pop star demanding his lover to put their filthy hands all over him atop synth and a pounding bassline. Similar to the initial polarizing reactions of his signature hit "SexyBack," "Filthy" has prompted plenty of different responses from listeners. Justin Timberlake’s new track is giving me major George Michael vibes, and I’m 100% here for it.

Justin Timberlake: "This album is inspired by my wife, my son but mostly where I'm from. It's called MAN OF THE WOODS."...

World: Ahhh amazing! 1st single?
JT: I'm glad you asked! It's called FILTHY, a synthetic growl about a futuristic sex robot simulating an orgy.

It's a Friday in 2018 and most of the Internet is more excited by a book about the President than a new Justin Timberlake song and honestly I couldn't have foreseen this like 3, 4 years ago.

Timberlake: This album is really inspired by my son...
— Backstage Ben (@BackstageBen) January 5, 2018
Also Timberlake: PUT YOUR FILTHY HANDS ALL OVER ME

Justin Timberlake should've called his album 'Florida Man' because that new single is a crime

I am a huge Justin Timberlake fan, but after waiting till 12 to hear his new single #Filthy off the #ManoftheWoods, I have one conclusion...we desperately need @Timbaland to produce this whole album. Disappointing Single. Last two albums were incredible. JT and Timbo are a must pic.twitter.com/h4KkKAGJPx

My favorite thing about #Filthy is JT is making the music he wants to. No pressure to be inherently pop or prove himself. It actually sounds v Future Sex/Love Sounds to me, and uses a lot of the instrumentals he incorporates on tour to transition to new songs.
