According to U.S. Immigration authorities, the agency will resume accepting requests under a program that shields young people brought to the United States as children from deportation. A judge issued a court order on Saturday that blocked the government's decision to end the program.
According to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website, people who have previously received protection under the Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals (DACA) can now apply for a renewal under the same terms before the program was rescinded last September.
A U.S. judge temporarily blocked President Trump's decision to end DACA later this year on Thursday. Deferments under DACA do not grant legal residency, but instead, gives prosecutors the decision on enforcing immigration laws.
