AHL Hockey Game Played In Empty Arena

Inclement weather conditions in Charlotte, NC forced the Charlotte Checkers to close the game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers to the public Wednesday night. Since the Tigers and the referees were already in town for the game, they decided to go ahead and play it in an empty Bojangle's Colliseum. Corporate office employees filled in for regular staff as camera operators, sound operators, etc. They ran the game as if there were a full crowd in attendance. Even the Kiss Cam was in operation. The Checkers Twitter account had some fun with the empty event.
I don't think this would ever happen here in Toledo with our Walleye. We are used to "inclement weather" here...unless it is an outdoor game at 5/3 Field and the game is postponed because of misting/light rain conditions that could fog up the players face shields.
Tonight was fun. Thanks for following along and staying safe. #BehindClosedDoors2 pic.twitter.com/XCYaL3UJ52
