Mattis: U.S. Competitive Edge Eroding
January 19, 2018
Defense Secretary James Mattis warns that the competitive edge of the U.S. military has eroded and continues to erode.
In a D.C. speech Friday, Mattis blamed budgetary restrictions and "continuous war."
He said it's difficult to run the Defense Department through a series of temporary spending plans that are approved by Congress.
Meantime, Mattis warned adversaries, saying, "If you challenge us, it will be your longest and worst day."
