Mulvaney: President Wants to Get DACA Fixed

January 21, 2018

White House budget chief Mick Mulvaney says President Trump wants to find a fix for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA program.

Mulvaney tells CNN's "State of the Union," "The President is absolutely interested and wants to get DACA fixed."

DACA has been at the center of negotiations over a short-term funding bill as Democrats push for protections for immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally as children.

Mulvaney says Trump is "actively engaged" in trying to prevent a government shutdown.

Mulvaney adds Republicans will need Democratic support to get the government open again.
