FBI Looking Into 'Storm Chasers' Star Joel Taylor's Apparent Overdose

January 25, 2018

After word spread that Storm Chaser star Joel Taylor died of a potential overdose on the Royal Caribbean ship, Harmony of the Seas, it has prompted an FBI investigation, according to law enforcement sources close to TMZ.

TMZ was told that large quantities of party drugs were on board the ship, including cocaine, Ecstasy, and GHB. In fact, the drug usage led to several arrests even before the ship left the Ft. Lauderdale port. The FBI is reportedly investigating just how the drugs got on board the ship in the first place.

Passengers on the ship previously told TMZ that the 38-year-old was partaking in drugs during his time on the ship. One passenger, who interacted with the star, revealed that Joel had enough GHB on the dancefloor that he went unconscious and had to be returned back to his room by two other passengers. Olivia Newton-John and Galantis were among the entertainment for the night.

A Royal Caribbean Cruise Line Harmony representative previously told TMZ that Taylor was found unresponsive in his cabin on Tuesday (January 23). Law enforcement was alerted of his state when the boat arrived in San Juan, Puerto Rico. "It appears the death could be an overdose and Joel Taylor was consuming controlled substances," they later told TMZ.
