Panera Bread Issues National Cream Cheese Recall

Panera Bread has issued a nation-wide voluntary recall of cream cheese products used in its bakery-cafes.

The recall is the result of one variety of cream cheese product tested positive for Listeria. Panera Bread officials say the positive test stem from a single day of production on that particular variety of cream cheese. Tests on samples made the day before and the day after were negative.

Affected brands are Plain Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Plain Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Honey Walnut Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Chive & Onion Cream Cheese, and Reduced-Fat Wild Blueberry Cream Cheese. Both 2-ounce and 8-ounce varieties with an expiration date before April 2, 2018, are subject to the recall.

Panera has 66 locations in Massachusetts, including Hyannis and Mashpee.
