Woolworths' New Store Has Living Lettuce And Custom Cakes

If you’re looking to kick your meals up a notch - or prefer to use food as fresh as you can possibly get it, then you’ll be more than a little interested in the fresh new offering from Woolies - pardon the pun.

The new set up at the Woolworths Marrickville Metro includes ‘living lettuce’, which is housed in a hydroponic setup, meaning the lettuce continues to grow until being placed into the trolley.

There’s also WAY more fresh food, as well as an elaborate read-to-go meal section for the time poor.

Genius.

For the super health conscious there’s a Macro whole foods market with over 200 certified organic lines, loose nuts, seeds and grains and an expanded gluten free range. You’ll also find free range flame-roasted chicken that are expertly marinated and hand stuffed, and over 200 local and International cheeses.

You can also order custom-made party cakes through their ordering screen!

PLUS there’s pick-up lockers at the front of the store, so you can order online and pick up at a time that suits you. Word is there’s also ‘meal kits’ that come in a bag.

Choose what you want to make and then pick up a ready made bag of ingredients you can cook at home.
