A new ALS challenge is about to spice up pop culture.
Kelly Clarkson took part in the ALS Pepper Challenge, in which celebrities and everyday people alike eat a pepper to raise awareness for Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Kelly took the challenge from Trisha Yearwood, who she jokingly said she ‘cannot stand’ for putting her up to the task.
“I was in the clear, Garth didn’t even say my name and then you just brought it out of nowhere!” Kelly said in the video of her eating her pepper dinner. “I’d also like to say, for the ALS Pepper Challenge, this is love because I’ve actually never had habanero [peppers]. Trisha picked the habanero because she’s, like, bold, and I don’t want to look like a wimp. I’m going to cry, probably.”
After her tears were dried, Kelly challenged her fellow coaches on The Voice, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Alicia Keys, and husband Brandon Blackstock to complete the challenge.
The ALS Pepper Challenge follows the Ice Bucket Challenge, which raised millions for ALS research in 2014.
