Eagles Fan P!nk Sings National Anthem While Fighting Flu At Super Bowl

Is P!nk even human? Not only can she sing the heck out of a song while flying through mid air (or while scaling a skyscraper), but not even the flu stopped her from singing the National Anthem right before kickoff at Super Bowl LII at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

The three-time Grammy winning recording artist was battling the flu while in Minneapolis for the Super Bowl this year, where she performed a concert the night before the big game, as well as the National Anthem the following evening in freezing temperatures. And she nailed it, anyway, despite being sick.

After rehearsing to sing the National Anthem, P!nk penned a note about being ill, but not giving up the opportunity to perform. She explained she has been wanting to do exactly this since seeing Whitney Houston famously sing the song in 1991.

"Trying to practice the flu away. I’ve been waiting to sing this song since 1991 when I saw my idol, Whitney Houston, own this song. And now, my chance has finally come. And it just so happens that this chance comes when I have two small Petri dish kids who literally cough INTO MY MOUTH and rub their snot on my cheek. You can’t write this stuff I swear! And here we are. I’ve arrived at another one of my dreams which is slowly becoming a sort of nightmare. I will tell you, this is one of the biggest honors of my life, singing this song in front of my family, my military family, my dad and brother and step mama and family and the world. And the EAGLES!?!?! I promise I will do my best, as I always do. As far as the gremlins that got me into this mess, you can cough at me for the rest of your lives. Being an Eagles fan, nothing was stopping P!nk (originally from a town near Philadelphia) from performing just before the Philadelphia Eagles took on the New England Patriots. Reacting to the news that she'd be performing the National Anthem at the big game a few weeks ago, she tweeted, "Ummm. I’m singing the national anthem and the EAGLES ARE PLAYING?!?!?! IS THIS FOR REAL?!?!?!THATS WHASSUP!!!!!!!!"

The night before the big game, on Super Bowl Eve, P!nk also performed at concert venue The Armory for 8,000 fans -- and yes she did her aerial routine. Flu who?
