Lana Del Rey Breaks Silence After Authorities Halt Kidnapping Attempt

February 5, 2018

Lana Del Rey has broken her silence after authorities arrested a 43-year-old man for attempting to kidnap the pop siren ahead of her Orlando concert at Amway Center on Friday night (February 2).

On Super Bowl Sunday, LDR took to Twitter to tell her "kiddos" that she is safe and sound after the frightening news. "I'm doing fine thanks for the messages. And tomorrow we’ll be in Hotlanta can’t wait to see everyone," the 32-year-old chart-topper wrote to her 8.44 million followers. "Yachty that means u."

Police in Orlando acted on a "credible threat" when Michael Hunt was arrested a block away from the city's venue on charges of aggravated stalking and attempted kidnapping. Hunt's arrest comes after he made threatening posts and videos involving the singer on social media. "At no time was [Hunt] able to make contact with" Del Rey, authorities said. Hunt is currently being held at the Orange County Jail on no bond. At the time of the arrest, he was in possession of tickets to the concert and a knife. Hunt has been incarcerated five times already, including charges of burglary, grand theft auto, grand theft with a firearm and forgery, as per the Orlando Sentinel
