Former Judas Priest frontman Tim "Ripper" Owens is heading up a new band of fellow hard rock aces called A New Revenge.
Backing up Owens in the band of all-stars is former Alice Cooper guitarist Keri Kelli, former Ozzy Osbourne and Whitesnake bassist Rudy Sarzo and former Scorpions drummer James Kottak.
The lineup previously recorded together as Planet Rock in 2013 and released a song called "Here to Us," but now Owens says the group is preparing to release a full-length album as A New Revenge.
"It started as an all-star band playing songs from all of our careers," said the singer. "Then we wrote a CD and recorded it, and I can't wait to get it out." He described the band's musical direction as "just good old straight-forward hard rock."
Owens first gained notoriety as a member of the Judas Priest tribute band British Steel. But then he was hired by the real Judas Priest as Rob Halford's replacement.
He recorded two albums with Priest before Halford returned and Owens went on to join Iced Earth.
In addition to being a legendary session man, Sarzo was in early versions of Ozzy Osbourne's solo band. He also did stints in Quiet Riot and Whitesnake during the most successful periods of each of those band's respective careers.
Kottak was the drummer for Scorpions from 1996 to 2016.
Kelli was a longtime member of Alice Cooper's band. He also stood beside Slash in Slash's Snakepit.
