When Do The Oscars Air? It's Sooner Than You Think

It's hard to believe that it's almost time to settle in to your favorite seat on the couch, stuff your face with popcorn, and see if all your predictions about the 2018 Academy Awards were on point. That's right, it's Oscars week! For those who totally lost track of time and have no idea when the oscars air this year, don't panic. I've got you covered. It's sooner than you might think, but you still have time to binge all the Best Picture nominees.

You can tune in to the awards show this Sunday, March 4 to see which of your favorite stars will bring home a coveted golden statue. There are always a ton of pre shows, though, so it can get confusing when you're trying to figure out when the show actually starts. The 2018 Oscars telecast begins at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m PT) only on ABC.

For those of you who will be unable to view the Oscars on TV, you can still watch the show live. Thankfully there will be live streaming available through ABC Go and the ABC app. In addition to that, some subscription-based platforms will also be live streaming the Oscars in partnership with ABC. YouTube TV, Sling TV, DirecTV, and Playstation Vue will provide live stream access for the biggest night in Hollywood.

While it will be hard to avoid spoilers on Twitter if you're not watching live, you can still watch the entire show the next day on Hulu. I support anybody's decision to watch the show the next day, but with the knockout ending of last year's show I'm not sure how anybody can resist watching live. There are always a few stand out moments every year at The Oscars, but I'm not sure if anything will ever top the plot twist of La La Land being mistakenly named Best Picture.

This year's host is Jimmy Kimmel - who also hosted last year's unforgettable show - and he's teasing a bigger and better show. "If you think we screwed up the ending this year," Kimmel said.  "wait until you see what we have planned for the 90th anniversary show!"

There's only one way to find out if Kimmel is right about this year's show - we'll all have to tune in and watch. Whether you're watching live on ABC or the ABC Go app or choose to wait until Monday to find out what went down, there's sure to be a lot to talk about.
