Is Farm Fresh Closing Down?

Young Zach McEwen shot some footage of an empty Farm Fresh in Kiln Creek that was shut down last year. So how did it come to this??? One the more successful grocery chains here in Hampton Roads (a part of our community since 1956!) may be gone for good. But given the region’s crowded grocery landscape, two things seem possible, stores are going to be sold or closed. Frustrated employees who endured layoffs last year have been largely kept in the dark about what changes may be on the way.

First, employees were recently told headquarters would be sending them packages via UPS. Then those packages were canceled. Also a series of meetings have been canceled, adding to the nervous speculation. It's a shame... I shop at the Great Neck location. Many of the employees there know my family very well. It will be a sad day when I can no longer see them.
