Ozzy Osbourne and longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde did their part to help a Canadian fan who recently had his car stolen and with it his collection of rock and metal CDs.
Josh Cook of St. John's, New Brunswick, was delivering pizzas inside in an apartment complex when someone stole his car, reports CBC News.
While the car was later returned, Cook's CD collection was not, except for one disc by Wylde's band Black Label Society.
Cook reportedly works any job he can find to support himself and his mother. The apartment complex where his car was stolen is notorious in the area for crime. CBC reports that police have received at least 112 calls to the residence in the last three years, including reports of several violent crimes.
Wylde apparently learned of the incident thanks to his son. And within days Cook received an enormous box of BLS and Ozzy Osbourne merch, including the complete discographies of each artist, T-shirts and a photo signed by both Wylde and Osbourne.
"These guys, they don't know who I am, but they set me up with all this stuff," Cook told CBC. "It's amazing."
Neither Wylde nor the Prince of Darkness have commented publicly on the hook-up.
Wylde is currently on tour with Black Label Society promoting his band's tenth and latest album, Grimmest Hits.
When that tour ends in April, Wylde will return to Osbourne's band and embark on the singer's No More Tours 2 farewell tour.
While Ozzy says the tour is not a retirement and that he plans to keep performing occasionally, he says it does signify that he's going to switch his focus from music to family.
The frontman told Rolling Stone that it's important to him to be a grandfather and not let "go through another generation of Osbournes without seeing them grow up."
“It’s what I do. It's a passion for me. It's the greatest love affair I ever had, being in a rock band and playing for the people who come to the shows.”
While Ozzy has publicly waffled one whether or not he wants to make a new studio album, he indicated to Rolling Stone that he has a number of songs that are ready to record if he wants.
