Mya has been largely out of public eye since the mid-2000's when she became one of the first pop stars of her era to go down the independent record rout. Still, it's hard to not think back to one of her career highlights on the mainstream end alongside Christina Aguilera, P!NK, and Lil' Kim for 2001's "Lady Marmalade."

During an interview with E.T Canada, the singer took a trip down memory lane and it seems like she has nothing but positive thoughts on her time with the ladies even though a beef between Aguilera and P!NK began at the time. "I'm the mediator usually in situations. 'Ah can we please keep the peace,'" recalled of her usual instinct to play peacemaker. "But no, I don't remember any cat fights, we just got the job done. And we came to give a show at the end of the day."

It's been close to two decades since the song became a pop classitc, and Mya said that she's entirely open to the idea of a reunion performance. "It was a lot of fun and I really hope that we can reunite and do the song," she continued.

Elsewhere in the interview, Mya offered an update on her new album, reminding folks that she's still working quite hard even if you may not hear of it on a mainstream level. "The next album will be coming out very soon. This year. Full album. It's the 13th studio project and my ninth independent project on Planet 9 and it will be contemporary R&B space," she teased. "And then there's another one coming after that too."
