Parkland Shooting Survivor Who Shielded Classmates Is Back In ICU

One of the heroes from the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School was rushed back to the intensive care unit following an "emergency operation" according to Fox News. Anthony Borges has been recovering in the hospital after being shot five times during the attack that left 17 students dead. Had it not been for Borges, that number might have been higher.
As the shooter was making his way down the hallway, Borges helped guide students into an empty classroom. He was the last student to enter the room and was shot five times in the legs and back as he attempted to the lock the door. Despite the injuries, he managed to lock the door and keep his fellow classmates safe.
The Sun-Sentinel reports that doctors were treating him for a suspected abdominal infection and an ulcer in his small intestine. His father shared an update about his son's status on Facebook (original post is in Spanish).

The family's lawyer said Anthony is in stable condition and is recovering.
“He’s doing OK now,” the lawyer, Alex Arreaza, said Thursday afternoon. “This kid is an athlete, and he’s obviously in very good shape. He has grit and is super tough — and that’s what it takes. He’s defied all odds, and he continues to do so.”
