Father And 2-Year-Old Daughter Kicked Off Flight Because She Was Scared

It's never easy to fly with kids and anyone who has been on a plane with one knows there's bound to be at least a little disturbance, but that's all it took for Southwest to kick a father and his 2-year-old off of a flight, and it was all caught on video.

According to Alexis Armstrong, who filmed the incident on Flight 1683 from Chicago to Atlanta, the airline took the man and his child off the plane after the girl briefly became afraid and didn't sit in her own seat. A woman, likely the one whose seat the girl was in, didn't want to wait for the girl to calm down and instead got a flight attendant who then removed the pair, even though the child at that point was calm and in her seat.

Worse still, flight staff threatened Alexis, saying if she didn't stop filming an issue that didn't involve her then she would be the next off the plane.

Southwest has since released a statement that reads,

"After departure Wednesday evening, Flight 1683 to Atlanta returned to the gate at Chicago Midway to allow Supervisors to board the aircraft. Our initial reports indicate a conversation escalated onboard between the Crew and a Customer traveling with a small child. We always aim for a welcoming and hospitable experience and regret the inconvenience to all involved. The traveling party was booked on the next flight to Atlanta after the original flight continued as planned. We will reach out to the Customer to listen to any concerns they have about their experience and look forward to welcoming them onboard again soon."

No word on what happened when Southwest reached out to the father.
