It's official! Black Panther has become the highest-grossing superhero movie of all time in North America.

Since it was released on Feb. 16, the blockbuster film has broken a number of different records. From being the most tweeted about movie of all time, to smashing national and international box offices records, the movie has been on one of the most impressive winning streaks we've seen in a long time in cinema.

According to The Hollywood Reporter: "The Disney and Marvel release achieved the milestone on Saturday after passing fellow Marvel title The Avengers, which grossed $623.4 million in 2012. To boot, Black Panther is only one of seven films to ever earn $600 million or more domestically, finishing Sunday with $630.9 million to put it at No. 5 on the all-time list."

In terms of its global success, Black Panther reached $1.237 billion in ticket sales. This places the film in the 3rd spot for top-grossing superhero movies of all time in the worldwide box office. The Ryan Coogler directed project sits behind Avengers, which made $1.518 billion, and Avengers: Age of Ultron, which made $1.405 billion. With the way this movie is moving, we're sure it will come out on top in this ranking, too.

Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman as the Black Panther AKA T'Challa, Lupita N'yongo, Michael B. Jordan, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Sterling Brown and more. The success of the movie has ended the myth that films with a predominately black cast can't be successful overseas.
