Sebastian Bach has never been one to keep his feelings to himself.
Indeed one of the things that has made the former Skid Row frontman such a beloved figure in rock and roll is his effusive joy at every new endeavor.
Bach recently ran into one of his musical heroes at the birthday party of Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell.
"Got to spend the afternoon with one of my top two favorite singers on the planet, Steve Perry of Journey fame," Baz wrote in the caption of a photo of himself with an arm around the elusive former Journey frontman. "I would like to thank Jerry Cantrell for having his birthday where we got to meet again and hang out."
Bach opened the caption by writing that he plans to have the photo of the two of them printed, so he can have a physical copy. You can see the photo below.
Bach recalled meeting Perry once before, in 1991, before going into how massive an influence Perry has been on him.
"When I get ready to go on tour I warm up to Steve Perry's incredible singing and it's helped me expand my range over the years as you can hear on my last couple of studio records," Bach continued. "Steve's voice is so incredible to listen to and such an inspiration to all vocalists worldwide."
It's hard to imagine the 27 years since that first meeting at all dimming Bach's enthusiasm.
"What a great day + what a great man!" Baz concluded. "Thank you again to Jerry Cantrell. Happy birthday, dude!"
Bach's last solo album was 2014's Give 'Em Hell. He's reportedly working on new music. He spent much of last year promoting his memoir, 18 and Life on Skid Row.
