Tennessee police are searching for a 23-year-old man who admitted to killing his mother and her friend in a Facebook post before leaving the scene. Casey Lawhorn also called East Ridge Police Department and confessed to shooting his mother, Vi Lawhorn, and his friend, Avery Gaines on Sunday morning.
The 23-year-old described in graphic detail that within "probably 3 or 4 minutes," he killed his mother, who "was completely wasted" after picking her up from a bar, as well as Gaines, a man Lawhorn described as "a close friend."
Neighbors described Casey as introverted said that he "wasn't too friendly." The family just moved to the area in February.
"He gave me the creeps," Terry Kilgore said of Casey Lawhorn. Kilgore lives next to the small white house where the two people had been shot. The family had just moved in some time in February, he said.
Police found his vehicle abandoned on the highway in Mississippi but have been unable to track him down. They are warning the public that he should be considered armed and dangerous. Police believe he is still in Jasper County.
