Shad Moss A.K.A. Bow Wow stopped by The Breakfast Club this morning for what he claims will be his very last interview. During the hour-long interview, DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God, and Angela Yee got the 31-year-old rapper to admit to his lies that spawned the hilarious social media craze known as the #BowWowChallenge. To recap, Bow Wow posted a stock photo of a private jet to his Instagram account while traveling to New York City. In reality, he was flying 1st class in a commercial jet. A fellow passenger on the flight revealed he lied and the #BowWowChallenge was born, a celebration of fake-stunting on social media. He now plans to start a TV show titled, "#BowWowChallenge," with the same premise.
When the topic came up, Bow Wow admitted he lied, saying, "playas f**k up." When asked how he found the pic and why he lied, he continued, "I'm not doing a mood pic but I'm flying. So, s**t, I like the picture, I'm gonna throw it up. I am flying to New York but I like this picture better."
By the time Bow Wow had landed, the story had blown up. Always the entrepreneur, Bow Wow decided to find a way to profit from the social media phenomenon. "I'm about to turn this s**t around though, I'm about to get a check out this s**t," he said. TV producer Mona Scott, best known for her VH1 franchise Love & Hip Hop, then contacted him. "Mona Scott reached out to me two months after. She was like, "you ever thought of doing a #BowWowChallenge TV show?" and I was like "no." She was like, "you got to own this s**t. Own this s**t. F**k this. Everybody fronts on Instagram. You need to make a show like that a bust motherf***ers right in the act. It's you. You started it, you did it, it's you.'" Bow Wow then got CSI creator Anthony Zuiker to help pitch the show. Filming will begin next month. He described the show as a combination of MTV shows Made and Punk'd.
