New Meijer app lets you scan as you shop

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Meijer is starting to roll out new technology that will let shoppers scan and bag their groceries as they go through the store.

The goal of the "Shop & Scan" program is to cut down waits at checkout lanes.

It works like this: Shoppers download the free Meijer Express Checkout app on their phone, sign in with their mPerks information, then use the app to scan items as they shop.
