J. Cole released his fifth studio album titled KOD on Friday (April 20) and social media hasn't been able to stop talking about it.
Fans didn't even know that the project was coming until a few days ago. On Monday (April 16) night, the rapper hosted a surprise show in NYC at Gramercy Theatre where he previewed songs from the album. When that show wrapped up, Cole announced the release date of KOD. A couple of days after that, the MC also shared the artwork for the project, as well as the track list.
KOD consists of 12 tracks. The title has three meanings and they are "Kidz On Drugz," "King Overdose" and "Kill Our Demonz." However, the rapper tweeted, "The rest of the album I leave to your interpretation." The fact that Cole dropped the drug/addiction-themed album on 4/20, which is an infamous day of its own, was pure genius. Cole also added after midnight on Friday, "Grateful you staying up with me."
