ST. PETERSBURG (970 WFLA) -- St Pete police have identified the man they believe stole a car with a baby inside, strapped to a seat, at the Gateway apartments on 116th Avenue North Monday.

They're looking for 20 year old Rashad Webb, who was just arrested two weeks ago on grand theft and aggravated battery charges, in which the victim was pregnant.

Police say Webb grabbed the car after the driver went back to an apartment to retrieve a wallet. The eight month old boy was left in the parking lot of a condo in the 800 block of 71st Avenue North, where he was discovered by a News Channel 8 reporter and photographer.

Jail records show Webb was booked on April 9th on charges including grand theft and aggravated battery on a pregnant woman. He was released on his own recognizance. At this writing, Webb is still on the run.
