Fire Heavily Damages Super 8 Motel In Walnut

Fire departments from more than a dozen Iowa communities battled smoke and flames at the Super 8 Motel in Walnut early Sunday morning

The call came out around 6:40 a.m.   When they arrived, firefighters found smoke and flames coming from the pool area of the motel. 

A portion of the roof collapsed.  A total of 31 rooms were evacuated and everyone made it out without injury. 

There's no word yet on what caused the fire.
