Did Jughead Die On Riverdale Last Night?

In last night's episode of Riverdale on the CW, the writers may have killed off one of it's most beloved characters... Jughead Jones aka Cole Sprouse. That's not all the episode gave to us. "Judgment Night" reveals that Hal Cooper was indeed the Black Hood, but only leaving us with the possiblity of their being a SECOND black hood doing some of the shootings. Hiram Lodge is up to no good... but what else is new and Hermione shot someone??? However the biggest news of the night had to come within the last minutes of the show with Jughead. Gasps could be heard around the world as it appears to the fans that Jughead is dead. Off to fight the Ghoulies to protect his Southside Serpents, Jughead appears to be taken down and attacked with the episode ending with FP carrying his limp body in his arms. 

Wait though, The CW can't actually kill off the most beloved character on the show right? Bughead can't be over for good can it? This show loves to shock us, but this all can't actually be true! In previews for next week we do see the remaining cast at what looks like a funeral, but there's no way it could be Jughead's.... or can it? Showrunner, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has been teasing fans on Twitter about the fate of Jughead. He even posted a photo of the character saying this episode would be "literally heart-stopping" for him. Even Cole Sprouse is giving us a tease on Twitter writing after the episode aired, "Grateful, thank you #riverdale" 

If this is the end of Jughead on Riverdale there could be some ways we will still get our weekly dose of Cole. He could return as a zombie, making the show take an even more supernatural turn. We could also see him in flashbacks. Can't we just go back to the days where the biggest problems were Veronica joining Josie and the Pussycats?! There is also the possibility that the funeral being held is for a Serpent who Midge's mom shot in a rally.... If that's the case maybe Cole really is just messing with our heads in that last tweet. 

Either way we're confused and we know you are too so let's just all watch the Season 2 finale of Riverdale, entitled "Brave New World," airing on the CW on Wednesday, May 18.
