United Airlines has reached a settlement with the family of a dog that died on a flight between Houston and New York's LaGuardia Airport in March. During the flight, a member of the flight crew told Catalina Robledo to place her 10-month-old French Bulldog named Kokito in an overhead bin. The dog wound up suffocating and the family threatened to sue the airline over the heartbreaking incident. According to TMZ, the family's lawyer said that the sum of the settlement is confidential.

Following the incident, United Airlines instituted a new policy on flying with pets that included banning certain breeds of dogs and cats from flying in the cargo hold.
