Blake Painter, best known as one of the captains on seasons 2 and 3 of "Deadliest Catch" has died at the age of 38, TMZ reports.
Blake, who captained the F/V Maverick, was found dead Friday in his Oregon home after a friend became concerned when he hadn't heard from him for a few days. When police arrived for a wellness check, they gained entry to the Deadliest Catch star's home and determined that Painter had been dead for several days.
Law enforcement tells TMZ that officers took samples of several substances at Painter's home that will be tested for possible narcotics. Prescription pills were also found at the scene, but it was unclear whether that was a factor in his death.
No foul play is suspected in Painter's death. An autopsy and toxicology report will be done to determine the official cause of death.
Blake was considered an expert crab fisherman that appeared on several episodes of "Deadliest Catch" before he decided to quit in season 3.
