Every State's Favorite '90s Kids Cartoon
June 1, 2018
Take a break from doing The Macarena and tear the tags off your Beanie Babies because it's time to head back to the 1990s. The decade was great for many things but one in particular was the animated shows that aired then. From Animaniacs to Dragon Ball Z, the 90s had something for everyone when it came to cartoons. Now, we know exactly which 90s cartoon is each state's favorite.
Using IMDb to create a list of the most popular and highest rated animated kids series released in the 90s, and comparing that with Google Trends, FrontierBundles.com was able to figure out each state's favorite toon.
Topping the list was Batman: The Animated Series, which was a fave in five states: Arizona, Iowa, Kansas, Montana and Wyoming. After that though, the states were all over the board with what they liked the most.
Celebrate all of your favorite 90s music on iHeartRadio’s iHeart90s station.
Anime made the cut with Dragon Ball Z - a favorite in Louisiana and Mississippi, Digimon: Digital Monsters - the top cartoon in Hawaii and Washington, Idaho and Vermont's favorite was Pokemon (Indigo League), and Sailor Moon was on favored in Connecticut and California.
Among the other top toons were Rugrats, Hey Arnold! and the number two overall fave, Recess, all of which were created by Joe Ansolabehere and Paul Germain. Plus there were additional hits in The Magic School Bus, Powerpuff Girls, Courage the Cowardly Dog, SpongeBob SquarePants, Doug, Arthur, The Tick, Spider-Man, Ren and Stimpy Show, Pinky and the Brain, X-Men, Superman, Dexter’s Laboratory, Animaniacs, and Darkwing Duck.
