Ice Cube Says Drake's Time At The Top Is Over

Drake and Pusha T's beef might officially be over. During a recent radio interview, Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J. Prince said that he called the OVO artist to tell him not to respond to Pusha's no-chill "The Story of Adidon" diss track. Now, another rap vet is speaking out about the drama.

“I spoke with Drake,” Prince said on Saturday (June 2). “I made an OG call to Drake this morning, telling him, ‘I don’t want you to respond to this. We’re going to put this to bed.’” He added, “We’re going to put this to bed because we can’t get into the pigpen with pigs. Because pigs turn into hogs and hogs get slaughtered.”

In an interview on 106 KMEL's Sana G Morning Show, Ice Cube added his thoughts on the situation. The N.W.A. rapper said that Drake's top position in the game is done because of how the rap industry's pattern goes. “He had a good run,” Cube said. “You only got a three-year run in the rap game, baby! At the top, you only got three years at the tip-top of the rap game, and then you gotta find your place in this thing.”

The West Coast rapper also gave examples of this run by using the likes of Lil Wayne, T-Pain and Kendrick Lamar (we don't think K. Dot's run is up yet, though!). When Cube was asked if the Pusha T situation has anything to do with Drizzy's time being up, he said: “I don’t know if that did it. I think it’s just, you know, your reign becomes over. I think the audience has determined that more.” Cube continued, “That’s just been the pattern,” he said. “It was the pattern with me.”

The gangsta vet rapper did say, however, that he did feel like Pusha went too far when he started talking about Drake's secret son. “That ain’t cool,” said the "No Vaseline" MC. “I’m gonna have to see you. I might have to get a fair one. I might have to get that fade if you go too far. I’m gonna have to take it off the music if you go too far with my family.” Check out the interview above.
