Kia Motors is recalling over half-a-million vehicles after it was discovered that an electronic glitch may prevent airbags from deploying. The recall affects 2010-2013 Fortes, 2011-2013 Optimas, 2011-2012 Optima Hybrids, and Sedonas.

This is the latest recall that stems from an investigation by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, which is investigating four deaths where the airbags failed to deploy in Kia and Hyundai vehicles.

The issue also affected over 580,000 2011-2013 Hyundai Sonata sedans and 2011-2012 Sonata Hybrids.

In total, over one-million vehicles have been recalled since the investigation was announced in March and Kia says it does not yet have a fix for the problem. The investigation began after four people were killed and six others were injured in accidents with two of the automaker's vehicles.
