More details about fashion designer Kate Spade's death continue to surface. As we previously reported, the fashion icon's lifeless body was found in her Park Ave apartment in NYC. According to TMZ, Kate hanged herself by using a scarf that was tied on her bedroom doorknob.

She was married to David Spade's brother Andy since 1994, which was one year after the two launched the Kate Spade fashion label. A new report by TMZ claims that during her final days on earth, Kate was depressed because Andy wanted to divorce her.

"We've learned Andy Spade was not living at the family home ... he and Kate had separated and he was living in a nearby apartment," the news outlet reads. "Our law enforcement sources say after their interview Tuesday they were clear ... Andy wanted a divorce but Kate did not."

This can explain Kate's suicide letter. It reportedly was addressed to the designer's 13-year-old daughter. It read: "Bea - I have always loved you. This is not your fault. Ask Daddy!" By saying, "Ask Daddy!" it looks like Kate hinted that Andy would know why she took her own life.

Kate was also reportedly drinking more during her last days. "Sources say Andy told cops he was separated from Kate for a couple of months," TMZ added. "Andy added he was at his apartment when he learned Kate had committed suicide. Andy told cops Kate 'was drinking a lot,' and was depressed by business problems and their separation."
