Former Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort will be spending some time in jail after a federal judge revoked his $10 million bail. Manafort was charged with witness tampering after Special Counsel Robert Mueller accused him and his partner, Konstantin Kilimnik, of allegedly reaching out to witnesses in Europe in an attempt to sway their testimony. The two allegedly contacted European associates and told them to lie to investigators by saying their lobbying work was only done overseas.
"I cannot turn a blind eye" to the ways Manafort has "abused the trust" of the court, said Judge Amy Berman Jackson as she revoked his bail.
Manafort was first indicted by Mueller back in October for conspiracy and money laundering and has been on house arrest since then. If convicted, Manafort faces the prospect of spending the rest of his life behind bars.
