Police Cite Same Driver Twice In Five Days For Having An Unsecured Load

A Massachusetts driver did not get the message last week after he was pulled over for having an unsecured load in the bed of his red GMC Sonoma pickup truck. Just five days after receiving the citation, he was pulled over again for the same offense.

This time, instead of a pile of stacked furniture in the bed of his truck, the driver was transporting so much brush that it was spilling over and blocking his tail lights and license plate.

The Chicopee Police Department shared a photo of the overloaded truck on Facebook:

**FROM THE FILES OF SOME JUST DO NOT GET IT**

On June 20th, the Massachusetts State Police stopped the party on the left, for an Unsecured Load on I91 in Springfield. The party was cited. Today, Ofc Eric LaFlamme, one of our traffic officers, stopped this vehicle on Memorial Drive, for an unsecured load, obstructed tail lights, and obstructed plate. I am sure you are thinking to yourself, both instances are extremely dangerous, and not smart. What will make your head shake even more, THIS IS THE SAME OPERATOR AGAIN. Just 5 days later, he again drove with a load that could cause issues for others. Ofc LaFlamme will also be speaking to the registry on possibly having this party educated on the rules of the road. He was also cited by Ofc LaFlamme for the obstructed plate, obstructed brake lights, and yes, unsecured load (again.)

Please. If you have to carry a load in your pickup truck, DO NOT DO IT LIKE THIS. And, if you ever see something like this operating, call, so we can stop it, before someone gets hurt.

The driver was cited for having an obstructed plate, obstructed brake lights, and driving with an unsecured load. The officer who pulled him over said that he is referring the issue to the state Registry of Motor Vehicles to have the driver "educated on the rules of the road."
