LAPD Releases Body Cam Footage of Dramatic Shootout

The Los Angeles Police Department has released dramatic footage of a shootout between officers and two reported gangsters during a high-speed chase in Highland Park on May 21. 

The video begins with the two officers chasing a stolen car just before midnight when one suspect cam be seen firing a shotgun out the passenger window of the vehicle. 

The officer sitting in the passenger seat of the cruiser returns fire at the two while driving at a high rate of speed. The chase comes to an end when the police cruiser loses control and crashes. 

The suspects eventually bailed out of the stolen Honda and were later apprehended by officers. One suspect needed treatment for superficial gunshot wounds before he was processed. A shotgun was discovered in nearby bushes along with multiple shells along the chase route. 

Both suspects are known gang members with multiple convictions and are now facing multiple charges. 

Neither officer suffered any injuries as a result of the crash.
