A pride of lions helped out their fellow animals when they devoured a group of rhinoceros poachers who sneaked onto the Sibuya Game Reserve in South Africa. Nick Fox, the owner of the game reserve, announced the grisly discovery on Facebook.

Fox said that one of the reserve's "anti-poaching dogs alerted her handler at about 4:30 am Monday morning that something was amiss." The handler ignored the dog because he believed a nearby pride of lions had spooked it. 36-hours later, a field guide discovered human remains in the same area and alerted the Anti-Poaching Unit. According to the BBC, some of the lions had to be tranquilized before investigators could reach the remains.

Along with the human remains, officials discovered a "high powered rifle, gloves, wire cutters and the remains of a back pack with food, water and other supplies," which are "all the hallmarks of a gang intent on killing rhino and removing their horns."

Investigators said they are unsure how many poachers were killed by the lions, but they believe there were at least three people in their group.
