Ariel Winter and Twitter are taking a break. On Friday (July 6), the Modern Family star deleted her account after experiencing overwhelming negativity.

"Ariel has taken a break from Twitter and engaging with commenters on her other platforms because of the constant negativity she experiences," Winter's rep said to Entertainment Tonight. "She needs a moment to breathe and enjoy herself without judgement."

The 20-year-old recently announced she was "in the process of deleting all social media" on an Instagram story, but has continued to post on the photo-sharing platform throughout the holiday weekend.

Last month, Winter's TV sister Sarah Hyland defended the 20-year-old actress after some creeps slipped into her Instagram comments and twisted an innocuous photo of her at a gas station into a perverted fixation of her breasts.

Winter's social media frustrations are nothing new, though. In 2016 she spoke her mind to ET.

"I don't really think I'm telling myself, 'You should post this, you shouldn't post that,' I feel like I'm just having fun," she said. "I like my fans to see what I'm doing."

"I'm not going to fight with someone on my Instagram that tells me they don't like my outfit or I should put my butt away," Winter continued. "I'm sorry you think I should put my butt away, but just unfollow me."
