Meghan Markle looked stylish as always while attending her new nephew's christening on Monday. The Duchess of Sussex made a departure from the soft pastel palette she's been rocking since saying "I Do" back in May, opting for an olive green Ralph Lauren dress for Prince Louis' christening. She paired the simple, yet stunning frock with matching shoes and hat to complete the look.
Meghan's outfit might not just be another stylish look for Royal fans to copy, though. Many suspect that the dress has a special meaning, as well. Meghan may have been making a very special statement with her outfit, according to The Daily Mail, and if it's true then the Duchess is making a very sweet gesture towards her new family.
The Daily Mail reports that Meghan's choice of color for her dress is what makes the outfit such a powerful symbol. Green is supposedly a very important color in the world of color psychology. "It symbolizes unconditional love for both ourselves and those around us - which could be a touching nod to her new in-laws," writes the Mail. Another meaning is that it symbolizes growth and rebirth - fitting for baby Louis' christening celebrations.
This isn't the first time Royal watchers have theorized that Meghan's clothing contains hidden meanings. It was believed that she chose to wore soft pinks after her wedding to represent the honeymoon phase of her marriage. Guilia Papailias, a styling expert at Beaumont Etiquette, spoke with Harper's Bazaar UK about Markle's post-wedding wardrobe saying "Romance is soft, like a neutral palette—she is a newlywed after all. Meghan continues to give us the fairytale that we became enamored with the first day we saw her walk up those stairs. She continues the magic."
It's easy to believe that Meghan is fitting right in with her family so much that she'd want to let the world know how much she loves them. From Prince Charles walking her down to the aisle to giggle with Queen Elizabeth during a royal engagement, it's clear Meghan is the perfect addition to the Royal Family.
