The Spice Girls are finally getting back together, according to Mel B. Scary Spice chatted with British television talk show Loose Women on Monday (July 23) and assured that a reunion was really, truly in the works.
“For sure we are getting back together,” she said matter-of-factly. “We’re sisters at the end of the day and what we went through was quite an amazing, brilliant, journey so we’re together, we’re back together."
When asked if all four members were going to be involved in the reunion, the America's Got Talent judge did admit one particular member was a little harder to convince. “There’s one that’s been a bit difficult," she said, referring to Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice). "But she’s getting roped in.”
When Mel B, Beckham, Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) and Geri Horner, formerly Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) formed in 1994, they were an international sensation. Singles like “Wannabe” and “Say You’ll Be There” topped charts across the globe. Halliwell left the group in 1998, and the rest of the members disbanded after releasing Forever in 2000.
The last time the group performed together was in 2012 at the closing ceremonies of the Summer Olympics in London, but if what Mel B says is true the four-piece might be spicing up our lives again in the near future.
