Grace VanderWaal pays a playful homage to Ariana Grande by remaking the pop star's topsy-turvy music video.
On Friday (August 3), the 14-year-old singer-songwriter shared an exciting and unexpectedly hilarious clip of her own interpretation of Grande's "No Tears Left to Cry" video on Instagram. "I tried," VanderWaal captioned the dizzying visual in inverted lettering (another nod to Grande's signature mark), showing the overalls-wearing musician dancing and turning throughout an empty hallway.
In her reenactment, the "Moonlight" singer attempts to mirror a number of the Sweetener star's movements in the original full-length, scaling walls with grace and elegance while mouthing the words to the song. Check out VanderWaal's rendition below:
The Blythe Thomas-directed project hasn't been noticed by the Dangerous Woman herself, but the America's Got Talent winner's fans are loving it. "You're going to be a huge movie star. You're creativity is endless," one follower commented on the vid. "I'm dizzy after watching that but that was hilarious," wrote another fan.
"No Tears Left to Cry" appears on Grande's fourth studio album, Sweetener, out August 17. It's the first single from her long-awaited record and the accompanying music video for the song has since accumulated more than 450 million views on YouTube. The tracklist for the album was unveiled on July 20.
