Bon Jovi Surprises Shoppers at Long Island Grocery Store

Jon Bon Jovi made a surprise appearance this past Saturday morning, of all places, at a grocery store on Long Island, New York.

Shoppers were stopped in their tracks when the frontman and 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Famer dropped in to the Farmingdale, NY, Stew Leonard's with his 23-year-old son Jesse Bongiovi. The appearance was part of a pop-up event to promote the father and son's new rosé wine, Diving into Hampton Water.

Jon signed bottles of the rosé and took photos with fans. One 9-year-old fan told Newsday that she cried after her favorite singer shook her hand.

Another fan, Cathy Smith, told a reporter she's been a Bon Jovi fan for over 30 years.

"It's just so exciting," she said. "'Living on a Prayer' is my song. I have goose bumps."

But the event wasn't a shock to every customer at the store. Some fans got clues about the event earlier and turned up in Farmingdale to try and earn a meet-and-greet.

The Bongiovi's Hampton Water are made in the south of France in collaboration with renown French winemaker Gerard Bertrand.

The rosé is described on the Hampton Water website as being "made up of the perfect blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvèdre grapes. What that all means is our wine is the perfect companion for any occasion."
