Kanye West Canceled Carpool Karaoke Appearance — Costing James Corden $45K

Kanye West pulled a Kanye on James Corden and it cost The Late Late Show $45,000.

While playing a round of Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts with Kris Jenner, James revealed why Kanye has never been on his popular Carpool Karaoke segment.

“Oh, I can answer this easily. This is a great question for me,” James told Kris, choosing to answer her question rather than eat a 1,000-year-old egg. “We’ve tried. He’s canceled twice. Maybe even three times.”

James didn't end his answer there. As if the late-night talk show host had word vomit, he then went into detail about one of the times Kanye bailed on him.

“He canceled once as I was turning the corner to his house," James said. "I was in a car, and by the time the call finished, I was sat outside his house, and they were like, ‘He’s not in the zone for it right now. We’ll do it another time.’ ”

He continued, "He did send me a lovely gift.  He sent me these incredible flowers in a cube… and he sent me a pair of Yeezys. And people were like, ‘Whoa, they’re so expensive.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, they cost my show $45,000.’”

Despite the multiple cancellations, James said he looks forward to the day Kanye finally agrees to come on his show. 

“We love him. He’s my dream [guest],” Corden said. “He knows that. He’s my absolute dream.”

Next to ride shotgun for Carpool Karaoke is Ariana Grande. The "No Tears Left To Cry" singer and Late Late Show host announced the news early Tuesday (August 7) morning. However, it doesn't seem like Ariana and James' ride went as expected. 

Later that day, the 25-year-old singer posted a video of her bandaged hand to her Instagram Story, telling fans, “Well Mr. Corden, today’s off to a wild start.” But a little blood didn't stop Ariana from enjoying her second Carpool Karaoke experience. She captioned the video, “bleeding n smiling.”
