Major League Soccer Expansion Vote Delayed In Austin

City council members in Austin are giving themselves some more time before voting on an MLS expansion team project.  Yesterday, the vote on a proposed new soccer stadium that would become the new home of what is now the Columbus Crew was put off until next week.  Some council members question whether there may be better use for the land on McKalla Place for the proposed stadium site.   If the vote next week is positive, team owner Precourt Sports Ventures could opt to relocate the Crew to Texas in time for the start of the 2019 season.  The city council will take up the matter again in a meeting set for next Wednesday, August 15th.
