The event K-POP music and Korean culture enthusiasts in Los Angeles have been waiting for is finally here! KCON LA has been in full swing at the Los Angeles Convention Center, kicking off it's first day on Friday August 10th.

On the convention's website, KCON is described as:

The one place where every element of Hallyu encompassing pop music, TV dramas, movies, fashion, food, and beauty can be experienced and celebrated. At KCON, you can encounter your favorite stars, stimulating panels, interactive workshops, and countless booths of fun dedicated to putting the world of Hallyu at your fingertips!

KCON LA weekend is comprised of two main groups of events for 2018 - the convention and concerts. The convention, which includes informational panels, celebrity meet and greets along with vendor booths, lasts for 3 days. The concerts occur over two nights and are housed in the massive Staples Center Arena. For night one, Saturday August 11th, the artist lineup is Ailee, Dynamic Duo + Crush, Golden Child, IN2IT, Momoland, TWICE, Wanna One with special artists Davichi and Mia. Night 2, Sunday August 12th, has Chung Ha, fromis_9, IMFACT, NU’EST W, PENTAGON, SEVENTEEN taking the stage alongside special artists Dreamcatcher, JUN, and Roy Kim

One of the fan favorite programming segments during the convention is a presentation called STAR Live Talk on the KCON stageIt's billed as a "K-POP themed talk show" where featured artists are interviewed in front of a live audience of convention goers. Watch below as Twice is surprised with desserts to celebrate their 1000th day as a group and Momoland dance their way off the stage at the conclusion of their interview.

In addition to a wide selection of entertainment options, KCON attendees have the opportunity to enjoy many different kinds of Korean foods and snacks. The KCON Food Alley located near the convention entrance alongside the Staples Center is lined with food trucks. Everything from lychee lemonade to bibimbap is available for order.
